The Jumeirah Zabeel Saray

Nestled on the West Crescent of the iconic Palm Jumeirah, the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Hotel is not just a luxurious retreat but a sensory paradise that promises to enchant and invigorate without overwhelming. I highly recommend this property for those with sensory difficulties! This Ottoman-inspired palace, with its stunning architecture and opulent decor, offers a sensory journey that delights and soothes in equal measure.

Visual

From the moment you step into the grand lobby, you are greeted by a visual feast. The intricate designs, shimmering chandeliers, and lavish furnishings reflect the opulence of the Ottoman Empire. The hotel’s architecture, with its majestic arches and domes, is a testament to its commitment to grandeur and elegance. Every corner of the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is adorned with artistic details that captivate the eyes and transport you to a world of regal splendor.

Auditory

The hotel’s ambiance is punctuated by the gentle sounds of flowing water from the numerous fountains and water features scattered throughout the property. The serene environment is further enhanced by soft background music, often classical or traditional, playing in common areas. This auditory landscape creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring Dubai. The music is not too loud and the potential echo experienced in some grand lobbies is well absorbed by the fabrics and water.

The lobby has subtle aroma of exotic flowers and essential oils. The hotel’s signature scent, a blend of oud and rose, lingers in the air, providing a subtle and not too-overwhelming fragrant backdrop.  There is a lovely afternoon tea available in the lobby.

The rooms are luxurious, with crisp yet soft sheets, and a sumptuous deep bath tub and a separate rain shower. I loved how absolutely quiet the room was, and the ability to make the room pitch dark, with no annoying blinking lights. This was the perfect room for those of us with auditory and tactile difficulties.

The hotel boasts a variety of dining options, each providing a unique food experience. Chef’s are able to offer a variety of substitutions and vegan, vegetarian and halal options are easily available. From the rich, flavorful dishes at Lalezar, the hotel’s signature Ottoman restaurant, to the fresh, vibrant Mediterranean fare at Plaj, every restaurant offers fantastic options. My personal favorite is the afternoon tea!
